Dear Wellington City Councillor,

I believe Wellington City Council would make a tragic mistake by turning Manners Mall into a bus route.
By voting to destroy Manners Mall, Wellington City Councillors would be destroying much needed public space in the heart of the city. While we all want better public transport, sacrificing Manners Mall for to save 20 seconds of bus travel time is an absurd proposition.

97% of the Manners Mall business owners/managers signed a petition expressing grave concern as to how the bus route would impact operation and survival of their businesses.

Over 1600 Wellington residents that signed the WCC “epetition” asking that our public space be preserved.

Why not invest Manner’s Mall?

Over 4000 members on our Facebook group, SAVE MANNERS MALL have suggested everything from open markets on the weekends to theatre performances . . . along with better security, lighting, and landscaping for Manner’s Mall.

As the local body elections approach, our SAVE MANNERS MALL members/voters (and the rest of Wellington) will be reminded how each councilor voted.

I am hoping you will vote NO on Thursday and SAVE MANNERS MALL.
